Your point is pointless

Re: Nadia hussain.
If you write for a living or even if you care about what you write, you know you must work through things/work things out to get them down on paper.

At this point she is a professional author, so this is what she is doing every day. There is nothing unusual about confronting different things at different points in the process.

I don't begrudge a football player for making the money he does, he provides a service and gets what the market will bear. Or a doctor at the other end of the spectrum.

She is providing awareness of problem that is still very real and very much around us, if she chooses to make that her profession, again I don't begrudge that.

Her work should be taken for what it is, an account or example not therapy, but dismissing or even going out of your way to express doubts, out of hand, is at the very least, pointless.

I just thought the timing was a little bit contrived.

Without generalising, I get the impression that this happens far too much in both Bangladesh and Pakistan and so is probably true, so good for her letting it know that her uncle was a dirty paedo cunt.

Regardless of what you think of their religion (Islam is for nonces), their attitudes to woman and especially young ones is pretty appalling.

And that's coming from someone like me who literally wouldn't care if both countries were wiped from the earth.

In addition to that, if she’s using the publicity and interviews she gets over the release of a book to bring further attention to mental health issues and sexual abuse, I applaud her.

Both of them need to be talked about publicly to remove the stigma from admitting that you’ve been abused or suffered from mental illness.

Re: Nadia hussain.
twoleftfeet, unlike you I haven’t given any opinion on whether what this woman says is true. Like most normal people I don’t cast judgments on people when there is zero evidence either way.

Your ‘evidence’ that she is lying is that what she said coincided with her book release, like it did two years ago. Never having heard of her, I looked her up in Wikipedia. She’s had two (TWO) books out every year since 2016. It’d be hard for her comments on mental health or abuse not to coincide with the release of a book.

So much for your evidence.

One of the things I love about this site is the fact that we get the right to reply when a poster makes accusations that are not only unfounded but also wrong.

Darby.

I do not resentment women. You are clearly one of these new breed of liberals who believe women should never be criticised.

This site encourages people to be critical of people whether they are male, female, straight or gay. Over the years I have been on here I have been mainly critical of men but I don’t hear you saying that I resent men?

There are lots of men i don’t like and equally lots of women and I believe that in this modern world I can be critical of either or in some cases highly in favour of. So please don’t pretend to know me because you don’t.

This lady, bravely, came out 2 years ago when her new book was about to be launched and said she suffered from anxiety and mental health issues. Would it also have been good to then explain why this was so? Why wait 2 years until your next book to share further details?

And Darby people do lie, maybe not in your utopian world but they do. May I point out to you a recent case of a now convicted paedophile who destroyed the reputations of a number of high profile men by accusing them of raping and murdering little boys.

I have no doubt what she is saying is true but why drip feed the public information? Plus why not name this person? They may still be abusing young children?

Other than that Darby you were spot on 👍

Isn't it funny how you're always hearing about converts to Islam, Cat Stevens, Sinead O'Conner, Cherie Blair's sister, but never converts from. I wonder why.

Re: Nadia hussain.
It’s more that she brings this stuff up when she has a book out. She’s had loads of opportunities to bring it up before and has chosen to mention it when a new books coming out, that’s the point. Shame it upsets people

Re: Nadia hussain.
Fortunes, twoleftfeet seems to be suggesting that she was making it up. I’m not sure why, to be honest. He seems to have major resentment problems when it comes to women.

I like her. She seems like a nice woman and yeah, like Mashed said, given where she was unfortunate to find herself at the time it would be almost strange if it hadn't happened.

Nobody’s said she’s making anything up, we the wise people of WHO are discussing it.

Yeah the abuse of a little girl in a notoriously repressed and violently misogynistic culture is totally beyond the realms of possibility ain't it

*rolls eyss*

Fwiw i had to google whoever this was. Fuck knows what she's done to draw such ire off the fine people of WHO for them to automatically assume she'd lie about something so dark. I'm no male feminist type but fucking hell WHO show a bit of decency for once

Re: Nadia hussain.
I read an article recently which stated that one in 16 US women lost their virginity through forced sex.

But then the article admitted that a bloke threatening to end a relationship unless they had sex counted as forced sex.

Now, that might be the act of a cad and a bounder, but it is very different from what I understand by force.

Cads and bounders are not the same as rapists.

What’s left for her? She has had mental health issues and now child abuse so maybe she has been trapped in a female body?

You can’t prove what she is saying is bullshit or the truth because she won’t name names.

I smell bullshit on this one.
